Went to check the mail and as I’m on my way over the overpass I hear a pop. I look down and see something bouncing across the road and think nothing of it. I stop at the light and as I get ready to go I wobble. Damn it I blew my tire. ALREADY. I don’t have any spare tubes on me yet as I just got the bike. But I has my patch kit with me and no wrench or pump. I need to make a list of things I need for my trip so I’m not stranded on the side of the road at all.

might be worth investing in a good set of tires. I have a buddy who organizes group bike tours in Mexico - he swears by Schwalbe Marathon tires. schwalbetires.com/bike_… But ouch, pricey :(
